Project Goal: The goal of the project is to strengthen the oversight and evidence-based decision-making capacities of the legislative bodies of Batumi, Chokhatauri, Lentekhi, Mestia, Ozurgeti, Tkibuli, and Zugdidi municipalities as well as improve public trust and engagement in the Sakrebulos’ work.

Specific objectives: 

- Effectively use existing oversight mechanisms and institutionalize new ones such as but not limited to the thematic rapporteur, thematic inquiry, and post-legislative scrutiny. 

- Review and amend ROP (where needed) to strengthen the oversight and decision-making capacity of Sakrebulos.

- Develop/improve the Sakrebulo Commission’s regulations, strategies, and action plans (including addressing oversight). 

- Increase public awareness of Sakrebulos’ oversight functions/activities and foster citizen engagement.
