The investigator charged on the case of Luka Siradze has been sentenced to 3 years in prison

Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Mariana Choloyan, a convicted investigator in the case of Luka Siradze, to three years in prison. The prosecution argued that Mariana Choloyan was extorting the testimony under duress (an action under Article 335 of the Criminal Code).

The court took into account the testimony of Luka Siradze's mother, as well as neutral witnesses, other evidence gathered in the case and the argumentation of the state prosecution.

GYLA represents the interests of Luka Siradze's family. It should be noted that the State Inspector on the investigative part is still investigating the alleged crime committed by other police officers. Also, an investigation is underway into the commission of an alleged crime under Article 115 of the Criminal Code, which involves incitement to suicide.
